Yes, Oscar = AA Emmys are for TV Adrian went nuts at the AA and kissed Ms. Berry then Golden Globe is a mini-Oscar - similar concept, I think it does include some TV, and is usually a precursor to the AA Yes, an emmy is for tv Golden Globe is a consider a precursor to the Oscars. Yet, the concept is different. The Hollywood Foreign Press votes on who wins the GGS, whereas the acting community (who are members of the Academy) votes on the Oscars. Winning a GG doesn't guarantee an Oscar, unfortunately! There have been many cases where both should have been won, but didn't.

Some big wigs who are members in the academy do all the honors of nominating. Some movie companies shop their movies (meaning they campaign for nomination consideration). So, some movies and their subsequent get "paid" for, whereas others are earned.
