LOL!! I'm generally pretty good about understanding dialects, but try and ask me to say what they just said verbatim and I'd be pretty off base. So do you have an Irish heritage or grew up in Ireland(?)

My name's Shannon, that's majorly Irish. Haha. I never really knew that I could understand the Irish dialect so well. Because, well, I've never really sat there and listened to a conversation or anything of the sort in a strong Irish accent. But, when I started watching those clips from Disco Pigs I noticed how easy it was for me to understand them but, my friends on the other hand, were majorly struggling to understand what they were saying... haha. I've also tried my own Irish accent and in the past couple days, I've realized how well I can speak with a Irish/Cork influence and I never knew I could.

Very cool! Wish you were closer! I could use you as a translator! I've actually watched the Making Of video for Disco Pigs so many times, I can mimic Cillian and Elaine, accent and all. It's pretty cool. Haha. I was in a local movie when I was 3 years old. So, acting has been a huge part of my life from a young age. So, I always love watching videos, interviews, or movies and then impersonating characters or people in them whenever I'm bored.

I started writing a Disco Pigs fanfic, cuz it's such an open ended film and all.
But since it does take place after the movie, Cillian's not gonna be in a much. Just by mention and flashbacks later on. The plot is so cliche too. - -'
I had fun looking Irish names for all my OCs though. ;D

i loved the film. i don't pig would have been able to be saved. because as sad as it was that everyone gave up on him, i realized that he didn't have faith in himself either. when runt goes away to school and he's having that episode in his bedroom, he talks about how he doesn't like whats in the mirror looking back at him, and you can tell how childlike he is, and how he hasn't grown out of their world much throughout the film. in fact, he becomes even more obsessed with runt because of his sexual awakening.
What i really liked about the film was the symbolism. A lot of it you don't notice until the second or third time you've seen the film but it's there. marky always wearing red, and the color of their bedrooms. how they do everything in step, like when they were running from the disco until he kisses her against the wall, then they clearly aren't walking in step anymore. at first they both spoke their little twin langauge, then by the end at the karaoke bar when he says he's going to the bathroom, she doesn't understand him. and theres so much more.
i really really liked this movie. the ending is so shcking and unexpected until you think about it. and i like movies that keep me thinking.

I just saw the movie a couple hours ago and wow. It was incredible. I don't have a lot to add really, what you guys already said sums it up nicely. I kept getting interrupted by my family and I couldn't understand some of the dialogue that well so I'll have to watch it again tomorrow. But when Runt killed him I was completely shocked. Is this just me, did some of you see it coming?

I love being Irish. It's awesome. Here here! I love it too, though i think I'm a bit more german then irish, I get it from both sides of the family and am very proud of it. My grandmother loved Ireland, whne I go there I hope to help honor her memory since its a journey she never got to make. Anyway, about Disco Pigs! I have yet to see it, and can't find it anywhere but on the net for ordering, but I'm going to possibly tis week so I can't wait, it sounds like an exelent movie from all I've heard and I can't wait to finally. It's taken a while, its nothing my parents are interested in so it makes it harder, but oh well, they don't have to watch it.

Wow, just got it, just watched it and wow this film is so intense. I'm glad they had Dutch subtitles though. To me it seemed that after Pig killed Marky, I thougt it looked like he snapped again, but different because then it seemd to me that he realized that he was only causing trouble and hurting Runt and that she would be better of without him. I don't know, I'm still sort of confused. I was also really heartbroken at the end. I was sort of shocked that he killed Marky, I somewhere expected him to do that, but still it was quite shocking. Cillian really did a great job, films like this and with characters and stories like this make me have even more respect for Cillian, defitinely because I know how he had putted down several other characters. When Jim killed those soldier in 28DL I wasn't really shocked, more like cheering but now it was really intense, I don't really know why, I think I ahve to watch it again later to better understand it.
Wow, really wow.

When I first got it, I watched it 4 times on one day. Then, I watched the credits 9 times to start singing 'So New' with Cillian. Hahah.
