I have had the tab open for days now, waiting to have the strength to fully enjoy every bit of this, and I must say it was worth it!
You are a genius, you really understand the complex world you are building on here, man vs programs and their emotions... Dextra is very unique and you have created her beautifully... and with every bit I read I become growingly nervous about her... she's too real, too curious... I love how you are building this up and also how you learn a bit more about the 'closed' character that Ed is... I'm not surprised he had a sex program of his own, but it's such an interesting fact... and that Dextra knows too!
The ending of the chapter was stunning, beautiful, poetic and it was flowing seamlessly... it's one of the most beautiful love making scenes I have read!
You have a stunning talent and imagination, I am forever a huge fan of your work!

I want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, Bloody Rose, for your wonderful words. You really always exactly get what I wanted to express towards the reader!  Your reflections are spot on! That makes me so happy because it assures me that I wrote it the right way. The thing with Carol... LOL That wasn't planned from the beginning on! That idea suddenly hit me, like many of my ideas do.  But I have to say, I really am happy with that aspect, for it actually fits, considering Ed's lack in social skills and relationship experiences LOL Btw: That's the song which slightly inspired me to one passage of the love scene: "Je t'aime ... moi non plus" , by Serge Gainsbourg. Jealousy is truly showing itself as a green-eyed monster in this chapter... while Ed is trying to keep his cool and ignore it, Dextra seems to know just what she's doing to manipulate with him!
I can't help but fearing for Judith and Ed, I want them to survive this but there seems to be so many problems!
You have such a talent for writing, the way you painted the foyer... oh wow! I could see everything, I felt as if I could even reach out and touch it!!

At last I'm able to leave a proper review - forgive me for the long delay! Dextra knows what she wants, and it appears she will stop at nothing to get it!  The way she propositions Ed is about as blunt as it gets, lol. I get the sense that if a direct approach won't work (and it doesn't), she will simply find ways around his refusal. Really enjoying Ed and Dextra's interactions, as always. He's impatient with her, and uneasy. She even elicits a "you people" from him, lol. Ed hesitating that split second... and Dextra filing it away... just like a manipulative woman would. She's so deliciously clever. As inhuman and emotionless as she is, I find that I like her anyway - she's an irresistable force who won't be satisfied until she reaches her objective. And probably not even then. Even better though is the conversation between Ed and Judith about Dextra, and about all the programs' eventual self-awareness. This is one of my very favorite things about your fic - these cutting-edge themes that are so relevant to us today. It's the sort of thing I think about myself, and I image a lot of people do as well - the idea of artificial intelligence and where it would fit into human society. DOES it fit in? SHOULD it? Would have loved to be in the thick of that discussion with Ed, Judith, and that bottle of wine. Dextra hijacking that webcam and showing it to Ed... the two most chilling words in this chapter: Just watch. I can imagine the cold, dispassionate words on his screen, and the turmoil they would cause him. She wants him upset, unable to do his work, and to plant the horrible seed of jealousy as deeply as possible. Ed's unnerved, and rightly so. I can see his sense of security about his relationship with Judith just barely starting to unravel... Dextra has found a tiny thread and is starting to pick at it... creating that smallest of flickers of doubt... Zombie, as always, I'm impressed and intrigued by this fic! There's so much going on, and with each new chapter, you add more layers to an already intricate plot. I can't wait to see where you take this - please update ASAP!! |

And apart from the wonderful feeling to see the things I wrote reflected by another reader, who's also a writer, I can't stop saying how deeply I appreciate that you take so much time and effort to "honor" my stories with your words. I only wish I could "give it back" to you somehow. Sure, I can still review your wonderful artwork, which is a pleasure too! But on a story I can elaborate so much more and also more detailled. I don't take this for granted, Pisces, and you should know how thankful I am to have you as a reader and reviewer. I can't wait to see where you take this - please update ASAP!! How about NOW ? *grin* ;D Chapter 8 is ready !!! As long as ff.net has already updated it... (It goes without saying that you don't have to hurry with reviewing. PLEASE take your time. I hope the last chapter wasn't too silly LOL I fear that I've lost a reviewer at Fanfiction.net because of it...  However, I enjoyed writing it. Anyway... New chapter !!! Chapter 10: Techno Okay... here's an info to it: This chapter "Techno" is actually chp 9 here in the forum and chp 10 over at ff.net. Sorry for the confusion...  It's because I made a mess by not counting "Interlude" to the chapters in the forum, but at ff.net it is automatically part of the consecutive numbering of chapters. So I finally gave every chapter a title. AND: from now on I'm using here in the forum the numbering of ff.net. |
