I know I'm new here, so this might seem a bit random coming from me, but- if this all falls through, and we still end up with no admin, do you guys think it might be a good idea to have a "back-up forum" we could all migrate to in case this one goes under for any reason? That way, if worst comes to worst, we can have an active admin and mods on the back-up forum, and the active members here could hop over there. To make the transition easier, we could have the same sections and sub-sections that we have here.
I hope that made sense, fff. xD

That might be a good idea if Shannon will not help us out in any way but I think a lot of us are very attached to this place and only want to go to a new forum as a very last resort. Although I am pretty dead set against moving since I don't want to give certain people the satisfaction.  Welcome to the forum, sorry you are coming here at kind of a rocky time. |

Do you guys think we should have moderators already picked out when we contact Shannon so she can set it up right then? (That is if she is willing....) Maybe we should also discuss together what we want the moderators job to be and what kind of things we want to allow and not allow. Ideas?

I agree with both of the above. I think a back-up forum would be a good idea but i'm also not too fond of the idea of leaving this place unless it's absolutely unaviodable. This place should be kept alive for obvious reasons. And i also don't want to give other people the satisfaction. And yeah Larva i think we should all nominate or try to agree on two members between us who would be willing to do the job. I'd suggest Rukia and Pisces seen as they're probably the longest standing members who still visit here regularly- that is if they want to do it of course.  And as far as what they should be allowed to do....well i just think keeping an eye on threads and posts and making sure it's not getting out of hand with nonsense posts and threads that relate to nothing in particular. We don't want to much censorship but right now the place is swamped with crap as we all know! I'm sure everyone else will have other ideas too- probably better ones too.  |

Damn, I thought our resident loony had got bored with the forum, but no such luck.
Hope it all works out with new mods. I have a busy Christmas coming up, a longish trip away and then moving house, so I won't be around to read the boards until sometime next year. (Before I go, I'll second razz's idea of rukia and pisces, if they're interested). Hope the forum doesn't move, I'm paranoid enough to wonder at someone's ulterior motives!

Luthy - the idea of having a 'new forum' or a 'backup forum' has crossed my mind, too, a few months ago. I got really frustrated with our forum here, and I talked to Melty_Girl about starting a new forum since I have no experience in doing so. I think I was mostly just venting, and anyway, we talked, and I think we pretty much came to an agreement that it wasn't the best idea. This forum has so much history, and it's also an incredible source of Cillian information/news/updates next to CillianSite. I would hate to leave it.  I think someone tried to start a new Cillian forum, but it hasn't been successful. I think it's best to have new, active moderators for this forum. Kim and Sabine - thanks for thinking of me and Pisces! I would definitely be up for the job as long as I'm not the only sole moderator. I think the more moderators, the better, to make sure this forum is kept up regularly. Emma - how's it going contacting Shannon? Have you reached her? Keep us updated for sure! |

No problem Rukia, glad you'd be up for it- you've been a friendly and familiar face since i joined here. And yeah i agree we need a few moderators, not just one. Maybe even 3 would be better- that is if Shannon agrees or answers us at all. |

Well I hope it all gets sorted out soon. I cold never grasp what is the point of flooding forums.. and being an overall "T" word lol. Twisted sence of satisfaction I guess. But anyway, It would be great to see any of you as the new mods. The forum will be a much better place |

Aww... thanks, you guys!!  I'm honored that I'm being considered as a possible mod, and I very much would accept the position if it was actually offered. I'm fair, and would only remove the most asinine of posts, or outright spam. I would love to be partnered with Rukia as well - between the two of us, I think the forum would be pretty well covered as far as someone keeping an eye on things on a daily basis. So who is planning to email Shannon and make the official proposition? |

Oh and jimsgirl.... can I just say that i LOVE your signature pic??? First off, it's nice that it's of CILLIAN, lol, and secondly, it's one of my favorite pics of him. Brings to mind the old 80's band A-Ha, with that touselled hair.. and his expression is so pouty and petulant. YUMMY. I gawk at it every time I sign in here. :oLOL. So, thank you!! ;D

Emma - how's it going contacting Shannon? Have you reached her? Keep us updated for sure! Sorry Rukia if I made my earlier message confusing at all  It's only Melty I've contacted by email so far. As mentioned in my last post, I'm more than happy to email Shannon - but thought it best to hold fire until I had everyone elses thoughts as to whether they'd agree I'm the right person or not - seeing as I've never actually spoken with Shannon before and wasn't registered here as a member at the time of her being an active admin. Let me know what you think everyone. If you're all happy for me to email Shannon I'll go ahead and message her. But if anyone else thinks it's better they or one of the other members here would be a better choice of person please don't hesitate to say! |

Agreeing with Larva on this, as that's what I was thinking too. Good point there Larva! I'm personally happy to continue to stick to that rule. At least when it comes to gossip/rumours which aren't backed up by anything official Cillian's chosen to announce himself to the public. When it comes to talking about any kind of personal information about himself that he's already willingly shared (for example some of us were chatting about his sons in the photo thread very recently) then I don't think there's anything wrong with that. So long as all comments are made in a respectful way - which I'm sure most of us on this forum don't have a problem with anyways. Also agreeing Rukia and Pisces would make excellent mod choices. |

I don't know about the rest of you but I can't put up with this sh*t much longer. I personally say we go with Rukia and Pisces as mods everyone who has responded seems to be in agreement, if anyone else had any other ideas they should have suggested someone else by now. I think either Ruika or Pisces would also be good to contact Shannon (if no one has already) since they have both been long standing members here, unless you guys don't feel comfortable contacting her? If not we could have someone else do it. I hope I'm not coming off as bossy or pushy I just want to keep the ball rolling and get this thing resolved as soon as possible before we all flip out. lol |
